Oktoberfest At Hophaus
Traditionally Oktoberfest is the German celebration that has made its way to the title of ‘cultural phenomenon’, after becoming an event that’s celebrated globally.
Every year from September 22nd to October 7th, the festival makes an appearance. The event sees an array of colourful floats, parades, amusement rides, fun competitions and massive makeshift bier halls. In these halls, guests can enjoy full steins of German Bier and delicious traditional meals.
Held annually in Munich and Bavaria, it only makes sense that a Euro Bar would get in on the action.
So, without further adieu, Hophaus happily presents…[/az_column_text][az_single_image image=”3740″ image_mode=”img-responsive”][az_blank_divider height_value=”40″][az_column_text]This year, rather than celebrating over a longer period, we’ll be combining the fest into one massive weekend.
Festivities begin on Friday, October 11th and we’re starting things off the only way we know how – the tapping of the first keg! It’s important to note, that there will be free bier until the keg runs out. We’ll also have dynamic duo Hay Bax, performing live music throughout the evening.
Saturday the 12th, is sure to be the most eventful of days. Compete in fun events like our sausage eating competition or see if you can hold a stein for the longest. Of course, bier steins will be flowing, and we’ll also have live music and a DJ from 4pm.
Finally, on Sunday make your way back to us for a nice chill day full of fun games, like Giant Jenga and Hammerschlagen. We’ll have live music from Rory McKenna, whose got some seriously soothing vocals for you to listen too, as you sip on more steins. The Bier
In honour of the fest, we’ve imported a special selection of bier’s direct from Bavaria, Germany.
Weihenstephaner Festbier – A unique brew that drinks like a pale lager but has an underlying complexity, that will confuse your taste buds in the best way possible.
Weihenstephaner Vitus – An award-winning wheat bier that smells of dried apricot and cloves, while providing undertones of fruitiness with every sip.
Erdinger Festweissbier – A complex, full bodied wheat, that has a sour bite in every sip. Quick hurry, it’s only brewed once a year, during the fest
Weihenstephaner Korbinian Doppelbock – This full-bodied dark is a dessert lover’s dream. Offering classic dark ale tones of rich dark malt, toffee, nuts and chocolate.[/az_column_text][az_single_image image=”3747″ image_mode=”img-responsive”][az_column_text]

We may not be celebrating quite as long as the actual event in Germany, but we’ve jam packed the weekend with good bier, delicious food, and fun activities, in hopes of providing you with as authentic of an experience as possible.[/az_column_text]
That’s amazing! I’ve been to Oktoberfest in Germany once and it was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had! Super excited to check out what you’re offering here in Melbourne! I hope that you’ll keep the tradition and host another one in 2020, I’ll definitely attend if you will! Is there a limit on how many friends I can bring though? I’d want to come in with quite a few of them for such a big event, even more so that it’s only once a year so we have only a single chance, definitely don’t want to miss out any of the fun!
